🥭 MANGO BUTTER DEEP DIVE
One of our favorite ingredients for thirsty textured hair.
Mango butter is rich in emollient lipids that help soften, smooth and condition the hair while supporting moisture retention.
For dry, high-porosity strands, it can be especially useful for helping hair feel supple, nourished and less rough.
Buttery softness, straight from the mango seed. 🥭🌿
Mango Butter 101
Mango butter is a plant butter extracted from the seed kernel of the mango fruit.
It's rich in fatty acids and works mainly as an emollient, helping soften, smooth and condition the hair.
And no, it doesn't smell like a mango smoothie.
WHY WE USE IT
We use mango butter because we're interested in more than just making hair feel coated.
We want formulas that help with: softness + slip + manageability + moisture retention
That's especially useful for hair that's dry, tangled or prone to breakage.
HIGH-POROSITY. GIRLIES, LISTEN UP
High-porosity hair can lose moisture quickly.
Rich emollients like mango butter can help reduce moisture loss and improve softness, especially when they're incorporated into a conditioner, mask or leave-in.
But more butter more moisture.
Too much richness can leave some hair feeling coated or weighed down.
Mango butter doesn't "add water" to your hair.
It's an oil-based emollient.
Water = hydration
Mango butter = softness + lubrication
+ helps slow moisture loss
Mango Butter is not equal Moisture
That's why mango butter works best as part of a well-balanced haircare routine.
